On behalf of our client (Schlam), we are advertising. Schlam is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join their team based in Forrestfield, WA on a full-time basis. 

The Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson will be responsible for developing detailed design documentation and production packages for Schlam operations. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create new or modify accurate 3D CAD production models, drawings, DXF, and BOMs
• Provide detailed engineering drawings and designs to take products from concept to final design
• Maintain engineering drawings and registers
• Ensure traceability through the engineering drawings and change process
• Checking of mechanical design and detail drawings
• Good understanding of Australian Standards
• Product drawings to a high standard within desired timeframes
• Collaborate with teams to continuously improve products and processes 

Skills & Experience:

• Diploma or Tertiary qualifications in Drafting and/or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical drafting and design
• Experience with 3D CAD Software, PDM, Microsoft Packages
• Solidworks experience with exposure to FEA would be an advantage
• Computer literate
• 3D scanning knowledge
• Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings for manufacture
• Knowledge of mining machinery, dump body trays, buckets, mobile and fixed plant
• Strong knowledge of fabrication standards, welding specifications, assembly instructions and general arrangement details
• Team player with ability to communicate with fellow engineers and internal customers as work will involve interpreting requests to produce accurate engineering drawing packages 

Salary: $70k to $105,000 per annum
