Our government client is looking for experienced Lead Java/J2EE Web Developer on a 75% remote 12+ months renewable contract opportunity in Clemson, SC. Role: Lead Java/J2EE Web DeveloperClient: State of SC Remote Work Availability 75%, Onsite work: 25% Notes :• Resumes submitted should be limited to two or three pages.• Shorter resumes will be reviewed first, so they should be concise and to the point.• Previous experience in health care related information technology, insurance information technology, Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), Medicaid eligibility, or social services eligibility, while not necessary, would be helpful.• Interviews will be conducted for candidates selected on the following days: Monday-Wednesday: 10pm–12pm and 2pm-4pm Eastern Standard Time DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:The Software Architect – Project Lead is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development team members. Define the system, technical, and application architecture for major areas of development and recommend course of action to maintain cost-effectiveness. Stay up to date on business initiatives and objectives particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues. Research and implement best practice frameworks models that will provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery. May assist less experienced peers. Research and assessing, designing, developing, supporting, and implementing the State’s Member Management replacement project and any other projects assigned. This position will be a part of a Production Support group under the direction of agency’s Executive Director for support & maintenance of all new technology development work.The Software Architect – Project Lead role has two major functions: Provide architectural and big-picture oversight for development of new or enhance current software products.• Web-based distributed systems architecture and design: design, develop, and implement enterprise level web-based systems, enterprise defined in terms of system scope as well as number of users. Plan for responsive user interfaces incorporating modern web 2.0 technologies (such as ajax) and mobility needs (smartphones and tablets).• Software engineering: design and develop java applications incorporating industry-standard frameworks where appropriate (such as spring). Plan for highly available and scalable applications. Incorporate services into system design where appropriate.• Software project lifecycle management: effectively implement and utilize modern web-based software industry standards and best practices, use of integrated development environments, strong emphasis on unit testing and participation in complete software lifecycle from analysis and design through testing and deployment. Assist end-user and business analysts in turning business needs into incremental software development projects.• Communication: communicate with a broad mix of stakeholders involved in the information technology system replacement projects including business users, analysts, software engineers, database architects and administrators (DBAS), quality assurance engineers (QA), systems and infrastructure staff, and support staff.Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations on a continuous basis.SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED: Effective communication skills (written and oral), adaptability, flexibility, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, time management, ability to work effectively in a stressful environmentPREFERRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):• Medicaid eligibility system/business operations experience.• Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) experience• Medicaid operations experience.REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):1.
