LEAD DESIGNER DESCRIPTION

We are Wingo NYC - a growing fundraising and communications consulting firm, seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and creative professional to lead our design team. We build powerful and sustainable fundraising campaigns and galas to promote social and cultural change. Wingo NYC has strengthened 400+ nonprofit clients since 1996 by providing hands-on services, including all aspects of print and digital design.

This professional will define the creative direction for both the firm and our primarily non-profit clients, support our multi-channel marketing, manage two graphic designers and work collaboratively with our fundraising and event teams and clients to create mission-driven visual collateral.

Duties:

• Lead, mentor and supervise two hard-working designers

• Participate in the Wingo NYC 25thanniversary marketing taskforce

• Update the Wingo NYC brand during and after our 25thanniversary

• Work with staff to enhance and expand our marketing efforts and collateral

• Work directly with clients to discern and ideate design direction and implementation

• Lead clients through design process including concept, drafts, feedback and approvals

• Work closely with printer and mailhouse

• Grow our design business beyond service to current clients

• Identify and implement best practices in design and technology

• Design and project manage materials for Wingo NYC clients, including but not limited to:

• • Graphics for digital campaigns

  • Digital assets for social media

  • Animated online graphics

  • Organization and event branding, including style guide

  • Website design and production

  • Online appeals and promotions

  • Branding and collateral for special events

  • Direct mail and newsletters

  • Annual reports

  • Capital campaign collateral, including case statements

  • Printed brochures and stewardship materials

  • Other case materials

Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with 5 years graphic design experience who can fill this role with competence, grace and humor. Must possess great attention to detail; ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in group settings; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects); web design, competency in social media; a demonstrated commitment to social justice and the missions of our clients - and be able to work evenings as needed for client meetings and events.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is in the $80,000 range. Benefits include unlimited vacation plus additional end-of-year office closure, five sick days, $550 per month towards health insurance, and access to dental and vision insurance, commuter discounts, 401(k) and more. The position is hybrid, with three days a week in our sun-filled office in New York City. Wingo NYC is a positive work environment with wonderful colleagues and clients.
