The Strategy Group seeks a Graphic Designer in our Chicago office to execute work for progressive clients; including campaign branding, direct mail design and illustration for the duration of the 2022 election cycle. This is a seasonal position based in Chicago.

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for executing original concepts and completing edits to existing materials. Our ideal candidate will be able to create quick and thoughtful solutions that meet visual and strategic goals; with a innate sense of layout, attention to detail, poise under pressure, and ability to work as team player.

Position summary:

The Graphic Designer will be primarily responsible for working with the Art Director and senior staff to create print based designs within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Graphic Designer will possess a working knowledge of modern graphic design practices and principles and the ability to develop and establish best practices for managing multiple, ongoing projects.

This is a full-time, salaried position through early November with hours beyond typical workdays. Compensation will be commensurate with capabilities and experience.

Essential responsibilities:

• Address and interpret client edits that result in an optimal finished product
• Create smart, strategic, concepts that tackle big issues
• Create production-ready work across platforms, including direct mail, brand identity, and digital requirements

Basic Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in design at marketing agency or internal design department
• Knowledge of printing practices
• Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Portfolio and references
• Basic understating of elections and politics
• Flexible, poised-under-pressure attitude
• Bachelor's degree

Additional but not required preferences:

• Agency experience
• Web design
• Master's degree
• Spanish fluency
