As a Principal UX designer, you'll be central in planning the product strategy for iRobot's digital product experiences. You're an influencer with the design chops to deliver world class products. You're not afraid to debate and commit or to lead experimental projects. You'll be a key player, designing end-to-end solutions that include physical product platform features, interactive design, out-of-box set up, and ongoing usage.

What you'll do

• Craft, pitch, and validate long term design strategy in collaboration with leadership
• Own the core architectural interface decisions for the iRobot app
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create best-in-class experiences
• Identify and leverage emerging technology (machine learning, analytics, and voice UX)
• Create new and innovative approaches to evolving design challenges
• Champion the user as you bring amazing robot experiences to life
• Be a design leader, developing continuity between hardware, software, apps, and voice assistants
• Assist in research, including contextual consumer observation, inquiry, and focus groups
• Develop personas, journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes

Your qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in UX design, human computer interaction, interaction design or related discipline
• 8+ years' experience developing complex designs for consumer products
• Cross platform design for web, iOS/Android, and emerging technology
• Strong grasp of APIs and systems architecture and the impact on the experience
• Balance design, execution, research, and needs analysis
• Shown ability to work through ambiguity and self-direct overall design approach
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience leading and participating in Agile
