Branding consultancy seeking web developer with graphic design skills.

The Staff Web Developer researches, visualizes, and executes our Graphics & Branding team's web and graphic design projects, as they are assigned. This work is done through reference gathering, industry trend analysis, digital visualization techniques, and front and back end web design and development.

This role requires proficiency and prior experience in the technical, interpersonal, and communication skills required to produce top-quality work in our industry. Direction will be received from our Creative Director and senior team members on industry trends, emergent techniques and software, and best practices in graphic and web design.

Success in this Position

Success in this position requires leadership on our web design and development efforts and a balance between autonomy and collaboration. A successful web developer will provide input on the scope of work and will own every part of the technical aspects of our website projects. Responsibilities

• Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements and interfacing with client teams
• Designing, building, or maintaining web or software applications
• Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media
• Performing website updates
• Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types
• Editing, writing, and designing website content, and directing team members who produce content
• Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
• Maintaining an understanding of the latest web applications and programming practices
• Backing up files from websites to local directories for recovery
• Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction

Required Qualifications

• 1-4 years of professional web development experience with expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, PHP, and common CMSs such as Wordpress

• Knowledge and experience in website hosting, security, and maintenance best practices

• Ability to apply SEO best practices

• A practical understanding of project / UI requirements around webpage layouts, styling, and features, and their translation from design intent to final configuration

• Proficiency in ideation sketching, wireframing, and other visualization techniques

• Ability to achieve creative project execution and to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment

• Solid skills in both written and verbal communication and organization

• Ability to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them

• Ability to work independently, make decisions on the fly, and solve complex problems

• Participation in travel for client meetings, industry events, and company outings (less than 10%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in graphic design, web development field, or in a creative design consultancy environment
• Degree or certificate in full stack web development or related field
• Proficiency in design research, user profiling, and reference collection
• Proficiency in Adobe XD or Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
• Exposure to e-commerce web development platforms such as Shopify
• Bonus points for experience with REACT or REACT Native
