Cloud Developer, Python - Permanent - 13011

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for one of our clients specializing in designing and manufacturing innovative and industry-leading products in the alarm security industry. They have been in business for more than 30 years and are currently looking to grow their development team in Canada. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about working on new projects with their R&D team to create the next-generation of products.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Work with the R&D team to implement new products within the current cloud infrastructure
• Develop new internal and external web and API interfaces
• Support /extend the existing web-based applications and processes
• Design and develop highly scalable servers
• Responsible for the design and deployment of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Integration between Operations, Development and Management for deployments
• Monitor systems to ensure maximum up-time and quality of service
• Write appropriate unit and behavior driven tests
• Write technical design documents

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• 5+ years of experience with Python and Web development (Flask, CherryPy, Bottle, REST)
• Experience implementing and configuring AWS
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, Vagrant, Chef)
• Experience with Git/GitLab
• Experience working on Linux infrastructure
• Knowledge of database technologies (MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
