The successful candidate must be an influential technical leader with deep database expertise and a collaborative style that promotes a cultureof innovation and well managed excellence. We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with extensive knowledge of relational database management systems, security, and resilient database design. The candidate will be capable to direct, monitor, and manage new and existing database solutions on the Cloud.Responsibilities:Create, manage, and optimize Amazon Web Services EC2 and RDS instancesManage Oracle database environments including Oracle Data Guard Broker and Oracle Golden Gate processesProvide technical leadership that fosters database innovation and champions automationSupport strategic planning for database architecture, resource management, capacity planning and growthEnsure best practices in database planning, design, configuration, performance, and resilienceEvaluate and propose design and process improvements to achieve performance and cost optimizationIdentify inefficiencies in current database designs and implement improved solutionsPlan and implement capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of databasesDrive efficient run-the-engine supportEnsure operational performance monitoring and reportingImplement effective risk management controls and own adherence to all compliance related items (exceptions, waivers, risks, technical compliance, access control)Lead incident resolution efforts and engages the appropriate resources to complete corrective actions as quickly as possibleManage root cause analysis and problem management activities for continuous improvement initiatives, incident reduction and performance enhancementsPlan and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises, system failover planning and testingParticipate with agile team members and product owners to ensure database design and performance meet current and future business requirementsConduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development effortsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeAt least 10 years of database experienceAt least 10 years experience with performance tuning, developing, installing, configuring, and supporting database environmentsAt least 10 years experience with Oracle databasesAt least 7 years experience with data storage, data modeling and data access patternsPreferred Qualifications:1 or more Amazon Web Services certifications (Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, or SysOps Admin Associate)5+ years' experience Linux/Unix shell scripting10+ years working with Oracle Databases3+ years of cloud experience (AWS)2+ years of other relational database experience (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc)Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.No agencies please.
