TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Database Administrator IV to join our team in NY or Houston, TX offices. Job Summary:The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining, managing, and optimizing MS-SQL Server databases in support of Enterprise and External Web applications. This includes working closely with system managers and developers to optimize systems for availability and performance; and provide data analysis services. The Database Administrator also is responsible for maintaining applications, processes, and maintenance procedures; performance tuning; and documentation and management of changes to database operations Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Propose innovative solutions and communicate ideas to the supervisor and to the group. Work with software developer(s) and senior team members to develop database designs and enhancements. Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions. Analyze, install and test upgrades of products. Monitor performance of applications and/or programs after implementation, taking actions as required. Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in computer science or equivalent from four-year college or university Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of experience in Database Administration and Developer for very large and complex databases in SQL Server 2019, 2016, 2012, SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2008. Expertise in Always-On Availability Groups (AAG) and HA/DR Troubleshooting Strong technical background along with the ability to perform business analysis and write effective documentation and specifications. Expertise in T-SQL writing stored procedures, triggers and functions. Administering SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies. Expert in data transformation services and Bulk Loads with SSIS and BULK INSERT ETL operations. Implemented the new SQL Server 2019/2016 mechanisms like data compression, online indexing, Contained Databases, security principals and AAG. Worked on logical and physical data base modeling with UML and ERWIN tools. Experience in using DMV and dynamic management functions for finding out long running queries. Worked extensively on Clustering and server consolidation. Proficiency and expertise in SQL Server Replication, Backup/Recovery, Disaster recovery and planning. Having hands on experience in DR processes including Log shipping and Database Mirroring and AOAG Handled multiple SQL Instances on Cluster environment for Server Consolidation projects built on SAN using RAID levels. Troubleshoot performance problems, fine-tuning of databases and index Analysis. Worked on SQL Server 2012/2016 migration from SQL Server 2008 / 2005. Having Experience on Data center servers and handling 1.4 TB databases. Handling Memory configurations for SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2012 on Windows 2012. Experience in Batch processes, Import, Export, Backup, Database Monitoring tools and Application support. Working knowledge in Analysis Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and Clustering. 24 X 7 Production Database on Call Support
