What does a great Database Administrator Sr. do?The Database Administrator will troubleshoot and tune SQL Server performance for multiple, hosted digital banking platforms using tools such as Foglight, Splunk, and SSMS. Participate in RCA efforts in the cases where SQL Server performance caused impact. Work with product dev teams to implement new or existing solutions/patches, which optimize product t-SQL code, add missing indexes, and fine-tune database maintenance jobs. You will validate and monitor production SQL Server change controls that are deployed after-hours, as they apply to the tuning efforts described above. Monitor SQL Server performance and capacity in order to advise stakeholders on the future health and longevity of hosted platforms. Occasionally, help solve SQL Server performance (as it relates to Fiserv digital banking products) for on-premise customers around the globe. This may evolve into a weeks-long, billable "heath check" exercise where the DBA works with application support SMEs to provide a detailed analysis of the overall system performance and provide recommendations. You will act as a SQL Server SME to the application support engineers when it comes to answering question about standard methodology, t-SQL, SQL agent jobs, index optimization, errors, etc. Peer-review change controls as needed. Occasionally, build monthly and one-off reports to supply other groups with user counts, transaction counts, and even data analysis to assist in cyber activity research. Find your forward today!Required Qualifications for Consideration:* High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferred* 10+ years of Database administrator experience.* Prior experience with the following is required: SQL and Windows Clustering including AlwaysOn® SQL Server Availability Groups, Strong Transact-SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), various replication technologies, performance tuning, backup and recovery methods, log shipping, database capacity planning, Quest Fog light Performance Analysis and Users and Role creation and monitoring.* Experience in SQL 2008/2008R2/2012/2014, 2016 and newer database management and related products from Microsoft.* Experience with database backups, recovery using DDBoost* Flexibility to work after hours/on-call as needed* Travel - 10%Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:* Experience with MongoDB, Redis, MySQL etc.* PowerShell scripting experience is desired* MS Azure experience is a plusLearn more about us.To support the total well-being of our associates, Fiserv takes a broad approach to our benefits.
