Sr. Azure DevOps Engineer

ECS is seeking an Sr. Azure DevOps Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office/Remotely.  

Job Description:

ECS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer will join our Enterprise Solutions business unit and transform federal client solutions from on-premises to cloud-based solutions. The Engineer works closely with stakeholders and other members of the technical team to gather technical requirements, and execute on deliverables. The Engineer works with an integrated project team comprised of multiple technical disciplines, specifically including developers, subject matter experts, database administrators, system administrators, and system architects to implement and maintain enterprise-level information technology applications. The Engineer provides development, maintenance and implementation of enterprise-level systems Microsoft Azure to support highly-available, scalable, and secure applications. The Cloud Engineer designs and executes architecture blueprints and bring solution to reality with a DevOps mindset & culture. The Cloud Engineer builds and configures build plans, code pipelines and creates automated solutions that can be reused.  Cloud Engineer promotes the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to client teams.  ECS is a Microsoft Gold Partner in Cloud Platform and Cloud Productivity, a Google Cloud Premier Partner and AWS Premier Partner.  As a Cloud Engineer there is the possibility to gain experience across all three platforms.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant hands-on experience including development, automation and monitoring of the business infrastructure architecture in Azure cloud
  • Relevant hands-on experience collaboration with one or more external development teams
  • Relevant hands-on experience working in DevOps environments for agile projects
  • Strong oral and communication skills (speak fluent English) and experience interacting with senior leaders within an organization
  • Experience with DevOps tools and technologies like Jenkins, Chef, and/or Ansible

Required Skills:

  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder and must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • B.S., or Associate Degree 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or similar preferred
  • Senior level DevOps experience with more than 5 years of infrastructure monitoring, and automation
  • 3 or more years of experience building cloud architecture with Azure, using Azure Resource Manager,  Azure IaaS, PaaS offerings and services in Azure Commercial, and/or Azure for Government
  • 2 years of hands-on experience migrating customers to the cloud and designing DevOps operational processes, deployment checklists, etc.
  • Proven experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, infrastructure, processes, and operations
  • Demonstrated experience automating production cloud workloads
  • Demonstrated Hands on experience developing solutions with cloud orchestration tools
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of IP Networking including VPC's, VPN's, VRF, DNS, load-balancing, and firewalls.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration
  • Experience in working through an ATO process 
  • Experience with monitoring tools, such as Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS), certificates and SSL management
  • Experience with Azure Resource Templates
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines with limited supervision 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • MCSE in Azure, or another Azure certification
  • General understanding of Microservices, such as Docker, Kubernetes 
  • Understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering 
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, and load balancing 
  • Knowledge of other scripting languages like Bash, and working knowledge of Python
  • General understanding of CMS applications, .Net Framework and/or .Net Core Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • Configuration and maintenance of common applications and protocols
