You will be hands-on, showcasing your solid technical skills. In addition to complex work, you will perform routine database administration tasks and enter data in system admin logs You will have knowledge of debugging protocols and processes and implement corrective actions. You will review database performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement.Responsibilities & QualificationsIn this Role You Will:* Manage SQL databases in development, QA and production environments* Resolve all database-related issues* Monitor databases both from a performance and capacity management perspective* Perform database maintenance activities such as backup/recovery and rebuilding/reorganizing indexes* Ensure that all database releases are assessed and measured from a functionality and performance perspective* Provide technical expertise on all database design (Logical and Physical modeling) and development project* Create RDS Database Deployments (IaaC)* Use Visual Studio (SSDT) Projects for SQL Server Database Deployments* Demonstrate SQL Development(T-SQL) expertise related to performance tuning of database schema and stored procedures* Create and schedule SQL Server agent jobs.* Set-up and manage fail-over clusters (in partnership with Infrastructure)* Develop SSIS packages, database mirroring, and replications* Automate database management activities using PowerShell, SSIS, and other technologies* Perform system monitoring, metric reporting, and diagnosticsRequired Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience* At least 7 years of related experience for a Systems Engineer level; at least 10 years of related experience for a Senior Systems Engineer level* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Clustering, Replication, and Always On* Experience with database technologies, such as MS SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014 and above* Experience in performance tuning, query optimization using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler or other related tools* Experience with native database services in AWS* Familiarity with JASON, XML, and .NET framework* Experience managing large numbers of databases in a real-time production environment* Experience resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, and data replication issues* Experience with database maintenance activities such as backup/recovery and capacity monitoring* Knowledge of how indexes work; management of index statistics and fragmentation* Deep, specialized domain expertise in deployed systems (i.e. distributed systems algorithms, storage allocation algorithms, and deep database skills)Preferred Qualifications:* At least 15 years of related experience* Experience managing and making software deployments/changes in real-time production environments* Experience working with development teams on logical/physical database design activities and performance tuning* Snowflake Automation* DB2 on iSeries experience* Background in coding & performance tuning ETL/ELT processes* Experience managing DB2 iSeries databases* Experience supporting Business Applications DB and Data Warehousing/BI platforms* Familiarity with Data Lakes, Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses* Experience with cloud technologies* Experience with MuleSoft Integration platform* Experience with implementation of Guidewire's Data Warehouse products: "Datahub" and "Info Center"* Experience with ETL tools like SAP BODS, SSIS and similarOur Benefits:* Day one health, dental, and vision insurance* Performance bonus* 401k plan with 4% basic employer contribution and 100% employer match contribution up to 6%* Vacation, sick, holiday and volunteer time off* Life and disability insurance* Flexible spending account* Free on-site gym and fitness classes* Professional development* Tuition reimbursement* Pet insurance* Free identity theft protection* Company-sponsored social and philanthropy events
