About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Electronic Instrument Trades Worker to join our maintenance team on a full-time basis. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining our electronic instruments and control systems ensuring they continue to operate at peak efficiency whilst troubleshooting any faults and maintaining our equipment across our manufacturing facility.

This role is well-suited to an individual with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment. Normal working hours start at 5:00 AM, with flexible finish times up to 3:00 PM depending on production finish times. During peak periods, weekend work and additional overtime are also available to support production systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor, maintain and oversee the operation of electronic instrument and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and automated scanning, labelling and inspection equipment.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify faults in electronic control and communication systems to minimise production downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  3. Monitor automation systems performance and implement adjustments or improvements to optimise efficiency, reliability and accuracy.
  4. Perform fault-finding and component-level replacement of electronic assemblies, including control boards, wiring and instrumentation.
  5. Configure, test and maintain labelling systems, including both hardware applicators and associated software, ensuring accurate communication of batch numbers, weights, and production data within the broader control system.
  6. Verify and validate equipment outputs to ensure systems operate within specified parameters and producing accurate and compliant results.
  7. Work as the go between production and maintenance teams to integrate, fine-tune and continuously improve electronic instrumentation and control systems across the facility.
  8. Assit with the installation and commission machinery, ensuring correct integration with existing control systems and reliable connectivity via Ethernet or wireless networks.
  9. Maintain, upgrade and support the facility’s industrial communication networks to enable real-time data transfer between production equipment and central control or monitoring systems.

What you Bring

  1. At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  2. A relevant Certificate IV qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute.
  3. Technical aptitude and troubleshooting with control systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and automated scanning, labelling and inspection equipment.
  4. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (ideal).
  5. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  6. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented approach.
  7. A commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
