Database Administrator, Full-time

The OpportunityWe are looking for a Database Administrator to take ownership of the availability, security, performance, and recoverability of the databases that power the CareMaster platform and apps. You will work closely with engineering, product, support, and implementation teams to keep our services reliable for providers who depend on us every day.

Key Responsibilities·Design, develop and administer production and non-production databases supporting our SaaS platform and mobile applications

·Monitor database health, capacity, and performance, and resolve issues before they impact customers

·Plan and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes and regularly validate recovery outcomes

·Implement and maintain security controls including access management, auditing, and encryption practices aligned with our information security program

·Support application releases by reviewing schema changes, running migrations, and maintaining data integrity

·Tune queries and indexes, and partner with developers to improve performance across critical workflows such as rostering, invoicing, payroll, and reporting

·Build and maintain database automation for provisioning, patching, and configuration using scripts and repeatable processes

·Maintain documentation for environments, runbooks, and operational procedures, including incident response and change control

·Assist with data extraction and reporting requirements for internal teams and customer implementations, while protecting sensitive information

·Participate in an on call roster for priority incidents when required

Skills and Experience·Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting business critical systems

·Strong knowledge of relational database fundamentals including indexing, locking, transactions, replication, and high availability

·Hands on experience with at least one major database platform such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL

·Experience operating databases in cloud environments and managed database services

·Confidence with performance tuning, query optimisation, and troubleshooting using logs and monitoring tools

·Solid understanding of security and privacy controls for systems handling personal and sensitive data

·Comfortable working with engineering teams using release processes, tickets, and clear change documentation

·Scripting capability in one or more of PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine tasks

·Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical risks and options to non technical stakeholders

Desirable·Experience supporting SaaS products with mobile applications and multi tenant data models

·Exposure to information security frameworks and audit requirements, including ISO 27001

·Experience with reporting workloads and data pipelines, including read replicas or analytics environments

·Familiarity with integrations commonly used by providers such as accounting and payroll systems
