Full-time ICT System Test Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ICT System Test Engineer to join our technical team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our mission-critical ICT systems within complex maritime and industrial operational environments.

Key Responsibilities & Job Duties:

Maritime Systems Integration & Testing: Execute the design, installation, and integration testing of shipboard ICT infrastructure. Conduct rigorous testing for navigation, satellite, network, and engine monitoring systems to ensure seamless interoperability across diverse operational environments.

Infrastructure & Communication Performance Validation: Utilize specialized diagnostic instruments to perform physical and logical layer testing on network cabling, copper systems, and VHF/UHF radio communication lines to verify data transmission efficiency and signal integrity.

Information Security & Risk Management: Apply established international standards to manage internal data security protocols, safeguarding corporate information against external threats and ensuring robust data privacy across all operational platforms.

Corporate ICT Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and lifecycle management of internal ICT infrastructure, including PCs, workstations, 3D scanning equipment, printers, CCTV systems, networking devices, and other peripheral hardware, to ensure continuous system availability and stability for all users.

Troubleshooting & Tier 3 Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex hardware/software conflicts involving specialized maritime proprietary systems, mission-critical infrastructures, and internal corporate software ecosystems.

Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and test automated backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to maintain business continuity and data integrity.

Industrial Upgrades & Strategic Development: Drive technical transformation and industrial upgrades through automation and virtualization for both maritime and internal corporate systems. This includes configuring and optimizing Azure/AWS/Google Cloud workflows and on-premise virtualized environments (VM/RAID) to support high-availability applications. Implement robust risk management for internal networks using established industry frameworks to modernize the company's IT ecosystem.

Salary:

$78,000.00 to $95,000.00 / year + Superannuation

Skills and Experience:

Education: A minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in ICT technical support, system testing, or network engineering roles.

Cloud Certifications (Essential): Must hold professional-level certifications from major cloud providers, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Cybersecurity Background: A strong background in information security is mandatory. Professional qualifications or direct experience aligned with global frameworks such as those from CompTIA, ISACA, or ISC2 and ISO27001 are highly required.

Technical Proficiency: Highly skilled in Cisco networking (routing and switching) and the proficient use of automation tools such as Python, JAVA and VBA for streamlining system diagnostics, performance testing, and operational reporting. Must also demonstrate expertise in hardware maintenance and system hardening.

Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to diagnose complex system errors and identify high-risk areas in hardware/software components.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and coordinating with project teams, vendors, and management.
