DAWANG INDUSTRIAL PTY LTD T/A Great 5 is a fast-growing wholesaler based in Brisbane, specialising in the import and distribution of food ingredients and packaging products for sushi restaurants and sushi shops across Queensland.
In addition to product supply, the company provides menu development support and food preparation guidance to its clients to ensure product consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.
The Food Technologist is responsible for supporting product quality, menu development and technical guidance for clients by applying food science and nutrition principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nutrition analysis and food composition assessments, including updating and reviewing nutrition information panels using recognised software tools.
- Develop, review and upgrade menus, recipes and cooking instructions for food service clients, ensuring nutritional adequacy and practical application.
- Test and evaluate food products for taste, texture, quality, suitability and nutritional content in food service settings.
- Provide technical advice on food labelling, portion control and dietary suitability to support consistent food preparation by clients.
- Support food safety, quality control procedures and documentation relevant to imported and distributed food products.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and clients to ensure food products meet Australian food standards, dietary guidelines and customer requirements.
- Contribute to menu reviews, food service documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of food science, nutrition and food service applications.
- Experience in nutrition analysis, menu development and recipe standardisation.
- Understanding of food labelling, food safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to apply Australian Dietary Guidelines in commercial food settings.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear guidance and documentation.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.
