We are looking for an experienced and motivated Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic who in this role involves general mechanical work including servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, along with carrying out roadworthy pre inspections for dealership vehicles and performing necessary roadworthy-related repairs to ensure vehicles meet compliance and safety standards.
Strong diagnostics background will also be highly preferred.
You'll work in a fast-paced automotive workshop with a strong focus on quality workmanship, customer service, and vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities:
? Discuss problems with car drivers or vehicle operators to discover faults
? Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
? Tune engines using electronic equipment and make adjustments for smoother running
? Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
? performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
? Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection
? Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
? Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
? Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls
Requirements:
? Australian trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic and a relevant diploma will be advantageous.
? 1 year experience in working in a busy Australian workshop.
? Proven experience performing both mechanical repairs and roadworthy inspections.
? Strong diagnostic capabilities and attention to detail.
? Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
? Strong communication and customer service skills.
? Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
? Experience across multiple makes and models.
? Familiarity with digital inspection tools and workshop software.
? Additional certifications (e.g. A/C, LPG) are advantageous but not essential.
