The Quantitative Developer is responsible for assisting the software and investment engineering teams in the building and maintenance of the Jacobi multi-asset portfolio design platform.
This position is part of a team located in Brisbane, Sydney and San Francisco, developing and deploying innovative software solutions in real time. The Jacobi development team, whilst decentralised, is a tight working group and the position requires working closely with others in different locations and thus requires strong time management skills and self-motivation.
You will be required to work on the technology platform which resides on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in containerised deployments.
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
·Collaborating in the building and maintenance of the Jacobi multi-asset portfolio design platform, including but not limited to:
o Programming in Python in the creation of custom client charts and models
o Validating financial model output and performing acceptance testing
o Participation in client interactions where required.
·Applying sophisticated mathematical tools and consulting with investment specialists to quantify real-world portfolio design problems.
·Collaborating with the Product Engineering team to design and build mathematical models as computer applications with suitable user interfaces and visualisation tools.
·Developing practical solutions for multi-asset management through optimization techniques, statistical analysis, simulations or other numerical methods.
·Knowledge and use of GIT workflow
·General acceptance testing
·Assisting with automated data loading
·Setup of client web instances of Jacobi
·Participation in client interactions where required
·Contribute to the business development and client management processes by presenting specific platform functions
·Other duties as required
Skills and Technical Requirements:
·Post graduate Finance/Mathematics qualifications
·Minimum 3 years’ experience in software development
·Self-motivated
·Strong time management skills
·General understanding of cloud platforms and database programming
Preferred qualifications:
·Experience in Python with Pandas, NumPy and Plotly libraries
·Quick learner with a true passion for technology and software craftsmanship
·Experience working in high performing technical teams
