We’re seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our workshop and contribute to quality components that exceed customer expectations.
Position OverviewAs a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming CNC machines to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering specifications. You’ll work with a range of materials and machining equipment, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor CNC milling and turning machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Program CNC machines (using CAM software where required) and optimise cutting parameters
- Inspect and measure finished components using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs)
- Maintain accurate production records and complete quality documentation
- Perform routine maintenance and tool changes to ensure machine performance
- Identify process improvements to reduce waste and increase productivity
- Comply with all safety standards and workshop procedures
- Skills & QualificationsCert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a production or precision engineering environment
- Proficient with CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and CNC controls
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Experience with precision measurement tools and quality inspection
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
