About the Position:

As an Accountant at Tax Integrity Group, you will play a vital role in supporting the firm's core mission of delivering high-quality tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses. This full-time position involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, and contributing to client advisory services within a collaborative team setting. Your work will directly impact client satisfaction and the firm's reputation for integrity and expertise in the Melbourne market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and lodge individual and small business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax laws.
2. Provide tax planning advice and identify opportunities for clients to optimise their financial positions.
3. Perform bookkeeping, financial record maintenance, and reconciliation tasks.
4. Assist with BAS/IAS lodgements, payroll management, and other compliance obligations.
5. Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, explain tax matters, and deliver tailored recommendations.
6. Support the team in maintaining up-to-date client files and contributing to efficient office processes.

Requirements:

1. Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia).
3. At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in tax preparation, compliance, and client advisory roles.
4. Strong technical skills in Australian tax legislation, accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB), and Microsoft Office; excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication, client relationship management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
