Alcarail Pty Ltd is currently looking for a skilled and experienced Mechatronics Engineer to become a valuable part of our dynamic team. A mechatronics engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems used in trains and railway infrastructure. Their work combines mechanical, electronic, and software technologies to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Key tasks include creating and improving signalling and control systems, upgrading equipment for better safety and performance, running simulations, and diagnosing and fixing technical issues.
This is a full-time position that requires a minimum commitment of 38 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
? Software Development: Program microcontrollers and control devices to operate and regulate complex mechanical and electronic systems, focusing on automation and safety functions.
? Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and fix problems in mechatronic systems, carry out regular maintenance, and ensure the equipment runs efficiently and reliably.
? System Design and Integration: Troubleshoot and repair mechatronic systems, perform routine maintenance, and make sure all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently.
? Prototyping and Testing: Develop and test prototypes of new systems or upgrades to assess their performance and recommend improvements.
? Project Management and Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and team members to set project requirements, carry out feasibility analyses, and oversee projects from design to completion.
? Safety and Dangerous Tasks: Design mechanical, electronic, and computer-based systems to carry out tasks that are unsafe or unsuitable for humans.
? Analysis and Simulation: Use modelling and simulation tools to study engineering systems and forecast their performance before actual construction or implementation.
?Equipment Modification: Design and apply equipment upgrade to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency, including modernising signalling systems or updating existing machinery.
Requirements
? Australian citizens and permanent residents are strongly encouraged to apply, with preference given to them.
? A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is essential.
? A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering specialization in mechatronics is required
? Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently within a team are necessary.
? Knowledge of AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Microstation, and Arduino software
?Applicants must be committed to working a minimum of 38 hours per week.
Salary - $80000 per year + Superannuation
