The Opportunity
Cyber Assured is a leading unique Managed IT and Security Service Provider dedicated to providing end-to-end cybersecurity solutions and support to SMBs and enterprise organisatios. We are seeking skilled and experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in our Melbourne office.
This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting cybersecurity solutions for both internal systems and customer environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure reliable network architectures (LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud connectivity) for internal operations and client environments.
- Design, implement, and manage ASD's Blueprint for Secure Cloud solution within M365 environment for security & governance, ensuring Essential Eight Maturity Level 3 compliance and adherence to ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Configure and maintain network hardware and software, including Windows365, firewalls, routers, switches.
- Implement and manage security policies, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide high-level technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution for critical systems including Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM), Entra ID, Defender, ThleatLocker, Duo, Atera, Semion Cloud, Cove Data.
- Document system configurations, network topologies, and standard operating procedures.
- Administer and troubleshoot user accounts, endpoints, Microsoft 365, and Azure Active Directory environments.
- Monitor system performance and network traffic to proactively identify capacity and security risks.
- Respond to and resolve customer-reported incidents and service tickets in a timely manner.
- Implement best practices for security compliance and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure secure and efficient IT operations.
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology.
- A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification professional experience in a dedicated Network and Systems Engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (ISM E8) and tools including Cisco Duo, ThreatLocker, Semion Cloud, WDAC and Cove Data.
- Proven hands-on experience with advanced administration, including Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, and PowerShell scripting.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure management (Azure and M365).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills.
- Essential 8 implementation is highly desirable.
