About Us:

We are an early-stage real estate startup building something big, and we are documenting the entire messy, exciting, and real journey on YouTube. We are looking for a creative Video Editor Intern to join our team and help turn our raw footage into compelling stories.

This isn’t just about cutting clips; it’s about capturing the essence of "building in public." If you love the storytelling style of creators like Matt & Ari, OperationsKevin, and Will Wang, we want to speak with you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. End-to-End Editing: Handle the full editing process, including cutting, transitions, and pacing.
2. Storytelling: Sifting through raw footage to find the "story" and cutting out the fluff to ensure high viewer retention.
3. Audio & Vibe: Sourcing and syncing high-quality, copyright-free music that fits the emotion of the video (Lofi, upbeat, intense, etc.).
4. Visual Polish: Adding basic motion graphics, lower thirds, b-roll, and sound effects to elevate the production value.
5. Platform Optimisation: Understanding how to edit for YouTube (hooks, pacing, and calls to action).
6. Short Cuts: Short Cuts to post on Twitter

Work Schedule:

1. Work 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules or work schedules.
2. Internship duration: 3 months.
3. This position is fully remote and unpaid.

What We’re Looking For

1. Experience: You must have edited videos before. We need to see a portfolio or links to videos you have created.
2. Software Proficiency: You must own and be proficient in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or high-level CapCut Desktop work).
3. Technique: You understand "J-cuts," "L-cuts," and how to use b-roll effectively to hide jump cuts.
4. Reliability: Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively in a remote environment.

2. Pacing: You know when to let a moment breathe and when to speed things up to keep the viewer interested.
