The Opportunity:
Lagoon Creek Resources Pty Ltd is a Uranium Exploration Company with its primary Australian projects: Westmoreland and Murphy situated in Gulf Region across the Queensland and Northern Territory border. The Westmoreland Project is advancing mine development studies with substantial scope for resource and exploration growth in the region. An exciting opportunity is available for a geologist with Uranium experience to step into a project role and develop exploration prospects into a pipeline of advanced targets, whilst expanding on resource potential.
About the Role:
- Point of hire from North Queensland (preferably Townsville or Cairns).
- 16 days on 12 days off roster (travel inclusive) for the duration of the field season and WFH
- Attractive base salary ranging from $140,000-$160,000

Duties Include:
- Conduct preliminary surveys, interpret geological data and mapping to support drilling, sampling and geophysical programs.
- Carry out exploration activities to adequately test prospective resources by sampling, examining and analysing drill core and RC cuttings using various techniques.
- Undertake project work providing geological and drilling support and assessment of geophysical techniques.
- Perform field studies, geological mapping, ground geophysical and geochemical surveys.
- Advance exploration targets and provide contribution to resource development.
- Build on mineral system understanding and development of exploration targeting methodologies.
- Conduct studies on the structure, nature and its effects on formation/evolution of sedimentation/palaeochannel processes, and assessing their commercial applications of uranium.
- Generate and maintain geological databases (MXD Deposit) and QAQC reports.
- Supervise and assist exploration team personnel and contractors in their day-to-day field activities.
- Preparing and supervising the production of technical reports outlining data observations and interpretations using geospatial software using Micromine, IoGAS, MapInfo, QGIS and QField.
- Completing any jobs that may arise including and not limited to statutory reporting, weekly and monthly internal reports.
- Ensure all activities comply with HSEC and general duty of care.
Skills and Experience Required:
- A minimum of a tertiary qualification in geoscience and at least 2-3 years industry experience;
- Demonstratable experience in Uranium exploration (and resource drillouts) is essential from a technical, logistical and safety perspective.
- QLD Licence to Use a hand-held analytical X-Ray Apparatus (pXRF) and thorough knowledge of ARPANSA is required.
- G1, G8, G9 Mining Supervisor & First Aid Certification is essential with experience using GoCanvas HSEC platform desirable.
- Experience using Micromine, IoGAS, MapInfo, QGIS and QField is highly regarded.
- Manual drivers licence.
