IPG Smart Home Pty Ltd, trading as I-Homes, has an exciting opportunity for a passionate interior designer to join our Sydney team, with a focus on creating lifestyle living and care environments that enrich lives.

About the role

As a Junior Interior Designer, you’ll work closely with the Senior Designer and Project Manager. You’ll produce technical documentation, source materials & finishes and assist with 3D modelling. This role is designed to help you grow - from assisting to running your own parts of projects.

Responsibilities

1. Meet with clients to discuss their vision, lifestyle, project requirements, and budget.
2. Develop overall concepts for spatial design, style, and atmosphere to visualize the project’s aesthetic direction.
3. Prepare detailed 2D and 3D plans, floor plans, and drawings using design software.
4. Choose color schemes, fabrics, lighting, finishes, furniture, and fixtures.
5. Find and select suppliers for materials, furniture, and other design elements.
6. Find and select suppliers for materials, furniture, and other design elements.
7. Work closely with architects, contractors, and other tradespeople to implement the design.
8. Visit the completed site to ensure the client is satisfied with the finished result.
9. Stay informed about current industry trends, sustainable practices, and best practices in interior design.

Skills & experience

1. Bachelor Degree in Design
2. At least 1.5 years professional post-graduate experience in Australia
3. Strong Vectorworks skills (2D & 3D) preferred
4. Eye for detail in documentation, joinery and finishes
5. Team player with great communication
