For this role, you will play a vital role in our design and project execution process. You will work closely with our internal and external design team, project managers, and clients to produce accurate and detailed architectural drawings and plans. Your expertise will be crucial in translating design concepts into precise technical drawings that guide our fabrication and installation teams to deliver exceptional stone and tiling solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for cost and time estimation to ensure projects are delivered on budget and within specified timelines.

Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design

Create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and elevations for stone and tiling projects based on provided design concepts, technical specifications, and project requirements from builders.

Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate and precise drawings, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.

Material and Product Knowledge

Demonstrate a strong understanding of different stone and tile materials, their properties, and applications to provide informed design recommendations to clients and internal teams.

Collaborate with our suppliers to select the most suitable materials for specific projects, considering cost and quality.

Cost/Time Estimation

Work closely with project managers to estimate the cost of materials, labor, and other project-related expenses for each project.

Provide cost breakdowns and budget proposals to clients, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all financial aspects.

Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to estimate project timelines, taking into account various factors such as material availability, fabrication time, and installation requirements.

Develop project schedules and milestones to ensure timely project completion.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with all relevant stakeholderss to understand project objectives and translate design intent into feasible construction plans.

Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to address queries, revisions, and updates to drawings and plans, considering cost and time implications.

Quality Assurance

Perform thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance with project requirements, and adherence to local building codes and regulations.

Verify that fabrication and installation plans match the approved architectural drawings and intervene in case of discrepancies that may affect cost and time.

We are looking for someone with:

1. Degree or diploma qualification in Architecture, Architectural drafting/Design, or a related field
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Experience in building and construction
4. Proficient in the use of computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or Revit
5. Above average eye for accuracy and detail
6. Ability to read specifications to determine requirements
7. Strong understanding and ability to read building plans
8. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills
9. Ability to work independently
10. Produce accurate BOQ's
11. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
12. Above average computer and mathematical skills
