Summary:

You'll join our Perth-based Advisory team as an Environmental Consultant, working collaboratively to solve sustainability challenges through decision science, risk management frameworks, and climate adaptation strategies.

An Environmental Consultant provides expert advice and solutions on ecological and environmental issues for various sectors. They assist organisations in managing their environmental impact while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Their work involves site assessments, data analysis, report writing, and the development of sustainable strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting environmental impact assessments
  2. Advising on waste management procedures
  3. Developing and implementing environmental policies and practices
  4. Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation
  5. Providing technical support on environmental projects
  6. Liaising with clients and regulatory bodies
  7. Conducting site investigations and field surveys

Main tasks:

  1. Performing ecological and environmental impact assessments
  2. Analysing environmental data and producing detailed reports
  3. Working with clients to design sustainable project strategies
  4. Preparing and editing environmental consultancy documents
  5. Advising clients on energy efficiency and sustainability
  6. Monitoring and auditing environmental performance
  7. Undertaking environmental risk assessments and presenting findings

Relevant qualifications:

A relevant degree in environmental science, environmental management, ecology, or a related field. Advanced qualifications, such as a master's degree or certifications in specific areas like environmental law or sustainable development, can be advantageous. Practical experience gained through internships or related work roles is highly valued.

Relevant skills:

  1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Proficiency in environmental software and modelling tools
  4. Capability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive reports
  5. Understanding of environmental legislation and regulations
  6. Ability to manage projects and adhere to deadlines
  7. Competency in conducting fieldwork and site assessments
