Telwater is Australia’s largest manufacturer of trailered boats producing iconic brands such as Quintrex, Stacer, and Yellow Fin Plate boats.
Due to continued demand for our iconic range of boats, new and exciting projects, and further looking to build our Industrial Engineering metrics, Telwater is looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team based in Coomera.
About the role
In this role you will be involved in developing efficient systems, processes and machines that result in the production of our high-quality products. You will also look to identify opportunities to streamline our manufacturing processes and workflows to maximise efficiencies and overall productivity. You will learn how to develop and optimize tooling and machinery for new product introduction and continuous improvement in operational KPIs. You will also be required to troubleshoot processes to achieve quality standards and optimise asset utilisation.
This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm, based onsite in our Coomera manufacturing facility.
Duties will include:
- Work within the Production Engineering team to develop complex tooling and machinery from the concept up to the final delivery protocol
- Develop understanding in dimensional analysis and process-machinery and manual jigs troubleshooting
- Tooling selection after cost and life analysis
- Develop process manufacturing skills in Machining, Welding, Plasma cutting
- Work with factory and engineering for all automated needs
- Develop 3D design skills
What we are looking for:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering
- Certified Engineer by Engineers Australia
- Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
- Product Intro readiness, (PPF) Pre-production findings, equipment downtime due to bad quality
- Tooling and machinery robustness-effectiveness, process adjustments and deviations
- Number of standards creations, on-time delivery of the infrastructure-tooling-machinery
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
- Project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
