Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and improvement of mechanical systems and processes within the business. The role involves working on technical designs, liaising with production teams, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The engineer will contribute to product development, quality assurance, and problem-solving in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Design:
Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
Prepare engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications using CAD software
Perform calculations, simulations, and testing to validate designs
Assist in prototype development and testing
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning and execution
Support production and fabrication processes with technical documentation and troubleshooting
Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure engineering solutions meet safety, regulatory, and environmental standards
Conduct risk assessments and participate in quality assurance processes
Maintain accurate documentation of designs, changes, and maintenance procedures
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improving mechanical systems and production efficiency
Investigate and resolve mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions
Participate in root cause analysis and implement process improvements
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or manufacturing
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of engineering standards, WHS regulations, and compliance frameworks
