Acu-Tech, nationwide leader in the manufacture and supply polyethylene pipe, products and services, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our experienced and service orientated team.
As a workshop technician your role involves providing technical support in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of vehicles. Your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail contribute to the maintenance, and improvement of various types of vehicles.
- Conducting technical evaluations and performance testing of vehicles and mechanical systems, including analysis of handling, fuel efficiency, emissions, and hydraulic performance using engineering methodologies.
- Using advanced diagnostic tools and engineering software to identify and analyse mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic system faults.
- Collecting and interpreting test data to determine root causes of performance issues and preparing technical reports and recommendations for engineering solutions.
- Assisting in the design, development, and modification of mechanical systems and components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and braking systems.
- Performing quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, design standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the implementation of engineering standards and safety protocols, ensuring vehicles meet industry and government regulations.
- Maintaining detailed technical documentation of testing procedures, maintenance activities, engineering modifications, and compliance records.
- Collaborating with mechanical engineers and technical teams to develop and implement engineering improvements, and providing support in resolving complex technical challenges.
- Participating in research and development activities, staying updated with advancements in vehicle technologies, materials, and engineering processes to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.
Incentives:
• Competitive salary $90,000 - $105,000 salary
• Fulltime 45 hour week

Skills / Experience required for the role:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Engineering Technician role or relevant trade certificate
