Are you an experienced technician with a background in simulator maintenance and support?
Our client is seeking a skilled Simulator Logistic Support Technician II for a 3-month project supporting the maintenance and operational readiness of helicopter maintenance simulator devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Relocate to Oakey, QLD for the duration of the contract.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and services on helicopter maintenance simulator devices, ensuring safe and proper functionality.
- Conduct firmware loading, diagnostics, and testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom simulation electrical and mechanical components.
- Interpret and apply technical data, CAD drawings, engineering change notices, and equipment specifications.
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate electrical, electronic, computer, and avionics systems using technical manuals and complex diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineering, production leads, and project management to resolve repair, modification, testing, and calibration issues.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulator devices, including daily operational readiness testing and periodic preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot system failures to root cause and repair hardware at the component level.
- Document and report system failures, and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Configure network connectivity and install software/drivers on simulator computer systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory tracking and reporting for spares and equipment.
- Safely handle government-furnished equipment and materials.
- Enter work order data into management systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in meetings and comply with relevant regulations and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in maintenance or operation of systems and subsystems, preferably in a military, industrial, or technical environment.
- Recent hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, or computer maintenance.
- Previous experience maintaining helicopter maintenance training devices (H-60M preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and electronic documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with digital multimeters and other test equipment/software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain an Australian work visa and access to military installations.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces or at heights as needed.
- Must provide own common tools; specific tools will be supplied as required.
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule, with overtime as required.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move between hangars on foot.
