Desktop Support Technician, Immediate 6-8 weeks - Contract - 18355 About the Opportunity Our reputable Financial Services client is looking for a versatile Junior/Intermediate Desktop Support Technician to join their team Immediately (Hybrid). Under the direction of the Desktop Support Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing on-site support for end user hardware and software to help meet information requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative team over the summer and expand your technical skills. The selected candidate will need to start right away and reside in Ottawa as the position will be onsite.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide courteous, professional, and quality service to clients
- Deliver timely assistance to clients for second level work orders assigned from the IT Help Desk
- Log and maintain accurate up-to-date records for assigned tickets
- Exercise resourcefulness in determining the cause of problems
- Effectively resolve problems or contribute to the escalation direction of the ticket to the appropriate response group based on general knowledge of PC’s, Windows Operating System, and various user programs
- Maintain effective lines of communication with third level support groups
- Adhere to all documented & formalized policies and procedures
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Helpdesk and/or Desktop Support role
- Excellent communication and customer service skills including patience and diplomacy
- Hardworking team player with demonstrated commitment to service excellence
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Must have a Reliability or Secret clearance with the Government of Canada
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, including but not limited to M365 applications, Azure AD, SCCM, Intune, Troubleshooting Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Deployment/Imaging of Desktop/Laptop Hardware and systems, Printer troubleshooting etc.
- Must be able to work onsite and be able to lift hardware (Printers/laptops)
About the Job This is an opportunity join a very collaborative team and start contributing right away. Candidates will work onsite for the first 2 weeks and then switch to hybrid for the remainder of the contract. Immediate Start or July 28th at the latest.
