About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work closely with our in-house engineering and design teams to produce accurate and compliant technical drawings for custom residential projects. The role involves preparing civil and structural plans, coordinating with construction and regulatory teams, and supporting end-to-end project documentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings for residential construction projects
  2. Develop plans for stormwater drainage, earthworks, retaining walls, and foundations
  3. Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure design integration
  4. Modify and update drawings in line with design changes or regulatory feedback
  5. Prepare documentation for council and building approvals
  6. Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code
  7. Use drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit to produce and revise technical documentation

Skills and Experience Required

To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  1. Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in civil or structural drafting
  2. Diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting
  3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; knowledge of Revit will be an advantage
  4. Strong understanding of Australian engineering standards and local council requirements
  5. Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  6. Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  7. Strong communication and coordination skills within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable Attributes

  1. Experience in residential construction projects, particularly custom homes
  2. Familiarity with stormwater and structural drafting in Queensland regulatory environment
  3. Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively
  4. Salary $70000 to $85000
