Financial Manager

About The Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our growing team. This role will oversee the financial operations of the firm, manage compliance and reporting, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Tasks Include:

· Play an integral role in the month end close process to P&L and Balance Sheet stage for multiple clients. This includes journals, accruals, review of GST and general ledger, and preparation of the P&L.

· Prepare monthly IAS and quarterly BAS for the clients.

· Manage the finance team and review their work while providing regular feedback.

· Establish and maintain external client register while being the principal point of contact for all the external stakeholders.

· Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

· Support annual financial audit requests as required.

· Manage annual Trust Account audit.

· Handle and respond to internal and external finance queries in a timely manner.

· Research changes and updates to GST compliance and other relevant accounting standards / best practices.

· Support the Director with ad-hoc projects, new business engagements and deliverables.

· Managing the Direct (such as Corporate Income Tax) and all Indirect (such as FBT, Payroll, GST) tax matters for the organisation.

· Ensuring internal controls are in place for all areas of the finance unit relating to the collection of revenue, payment of expenditure, maintenance of general ledgers, budgeting and forecasting.

·Implement financial controls and process improvements

·Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications and other requirements for Financial Manager

1.At least a bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

2.A minimum of three experience in a financial management or senior accounting role.

3.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

4.Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.

5.Proficient in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and Myob

6.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders

7.Familiarity with relevant retail industry regulations and compliance requirements

8.Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

9.Previous experience in an accounting firm or professional services environment (highly regarded).
