As a Mechanical Engineer at Prophecy Visual Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in transforming ideas into real-world engineering solutions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and deliver high-quality mechanical systems and products that meet the demands of our clients and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Design & Development
- Design and model mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Innovate and iterate product designs to meet functional, performance, and aesthetic requirements.
Engineering Analysis
- Conduct engineering analysis including structural, thermal, fluid, and motion simulations using FEA and other analysis tools.
- Ensure designs meet mechanical standards, tolerances, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on mechanical issues or failures.
Prototyping & Testing
- Oversee the prototyping process including component sourcing, assembly, and functional testing.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical performance, durability, and safety.
- Interpret test results, make design recommendations, and implement improvements based on feedback and test data.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with electrical, industrial design, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Communicate design intent and technical details effectively to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and milestone evaluations.
Manufacturing Support
- Support the transition of designs into production, including working with fabrication teams and external suppliers.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Assist with quality assurance, assembly procedures, and maintenance documentation.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Stay updated with emerging engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and implement new methods to improve product performance and process efficiency.
- Contribute to the refinement of engineering standards, tools, and processes within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in mechanical design and development
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical standards
Preferred
- Experience with product lifecycle management
- Familiarity with mechatronic systems or visual technologies
