Mechanical Engineer


As a Mechanical Engineer at Prophecy Visual Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in transforming ideas into real-world engineering solutions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and deliver high-quality mechanical systems and products that meet the demands of our clients and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Design & Development

  1. Design and model mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
  2. Generate detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
  3. Innovate and iterate product designs to meet functional, performance, and aesthetic requirements.

Engineering Analysis

  1. Conduct engineering analysis including structural, thermal, fluid, and motion simulations using FEA and other analysis tools.
  2. Ensure designs meet mechanical standards, tolerances, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  3. Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on mechanical issues or failures.

Prototyping & Testing

  1. Oversee the prototyping process including component sourcing, assembly, and functional testing.
  2. Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical performance, durability, and safety.
  3. Interpret test results, make design recommendations, and implement improvements based on feedback and test data.

Collaboration & Communication

  1. Work closely with electrical, industrial design, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  2. Communicate design intent and technical details effectively to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  3. Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and milestone evaluations.

Manufacturing Support

  1. Support the transition of designs into production, including working with fabrication teams and external suppliers.
  2. Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
  3. Assist with quality assurance, assembly procedures, and maintenance documentation.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  1. Stay updated with emerging engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.
  2. Identify opportunities for innovation and implement new methods to improve product performance and process efficiency.
  3. Contribute to the refinement of engineering standards, tools, and processes within the team.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  2. Proven experience in mechanical design and development
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  6. Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical standards

Preferred

  1. Experience with product lifecycle management
  2. Familiarity with mechatronic systems or visual technologies
