Our client, Global Disability & Health Care Services is a registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality disability support services across New South Wales. An opportunity is available for an experienced and highly skilled Accountant to support the financial operations of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, preparing compliance reports, analysing financial data, and providing insights to support strategic financial planning.
The role requires a high level of accuracy, sound knowledge of accounting standards, and the ability to work autonomously. Experience within the disability services, NDIS, or community health sectors will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
·Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and other statutory returns.
·Monitor and manage financial transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
·Examine operating costs and the income and expenditure
·Assist with the development and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
·Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management.
·Ensure compliance with NDIS pricing and financial reporting obligations.
·Liaise with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
·Review financial procedures and recommend improvements.
·Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
·Assist in managing cash flow and financial risk.
·Act as a point of contact between internal departments and accounting, serving as a liaison between accounting and external parties, including clients, suppliers and lenders
·Coordinate with external accounting and financial bodies for reporting purposes
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory)
·Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
·Demonstrated experience in NDIS, community services, or healthcare sectors is advantageous
·In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and ATO compliance requirements
·Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms
