1. Consults with builders, clients and consultants to understand design requirements and gather feedback on building designs.
2. Prepares initial design models for engineering and estimation purposes using BIM.
3. Takes measurements and dimensions, and performs other routine calculations for building or renovation design layouts.
4. Provides design recommendations to clients based on factors such as budget, building site constraints, and overall feasibility.
5. Produces architectural documentation for sketch design and to support applications to councils.
6. Prepares building designs, models, concepts and estimations using CAD, 3D modelling and BIM software.
7. Ensures building, renovation and extension designs comply with regulations and standards, and client, certifier and consultant requirements.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
2. Proficiency in ArchiCAD software, with skills in CAD, 3D modelling and BIM software being advantageous.
3. At least 4 years of experience in architectural design, with a portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
4. The ability to work collaboratively with the estimating, sales, and production team to meet client time frames.
5. A passion for good design, with expertise in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction.
6. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. A keen eye for detail and accuracy in work.
9. First-class registered architect, assistant engineer, intermediate engineer qualifications are highly desirable.
10. Proficiency in preparing technical documentation related to construction projects, such as material specifications, location, scale and quantity details.
11. Experience in coordinating with government and clients to ensure the smooth progress of projects is highly regarded.
