Overview of Position

This position involves the management of various engineering tasks, including the design, construction and commissioning of facilities, as well as the review, evaluation and audit of existing facilities. It involves engineering services from project inception and design to completion and commissioning, including budget tracking and final report preparation. You will be required to travel interstate or within the state from time to time as part of project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Estimating scope of work
  2. Preparing tender submissions
  3. Project Coordination and management
  4. Managing sub-consultants/sub-contractors/salesmen/drafters
  5. Equipment selection, installation and commissioning
  6. Conducting risk assessments
  7. Engineering design and design evaluation including calculations
  8. Assisting and directing site personnel and junior engineers
  9. Job reporting and performance analysis
  10. Maintain contact with clients and handle issues and tasks

Required Skills & Qualities

  1. Ability to solve mechanical engineering site issues
  2. Budgeting & estimating – estimating scope of job, tracking budgets to estimates
  3. Ability to work with minimal supervision
  4. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  5. Time management skills
  6. Site management skills
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

Software Knowledge

Experience with the following software:

  1. SolidWorks’ pipe routing and FEA assessment
  2. Ansys CFD assessment
  3. Fluid Flow or similar simulation software
  4. Revit and BIM integration

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a process, mechanical or construction /commissioning environment.
  2. Minimum 1 year project management/consulting experience
  3. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering
  4. Current NSW driver’s license
  5. First Aid Certificate
