The Palms Cremorne Pty Ltd is a vibrant and contemporary hospitality venue committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and lead culinary operations with creativity, leadership, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, organize, and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
  2. Design and adapt menus to align with customer preferences and quality standards.
  3. Manage inventory, estimate food requirements, and control food and labor costs.
  4. Supervise kitchen staff, fostering a culture of efficiency, collaboration, and excellence.
  5. Oversee kitchen equipment purchases, maintenance, and repairs.
  6. Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff as needed.
  7. Handle customer complaints and kitchen issues in a professional manner.
  8. Ensure strict adherence to nutrition, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  9. Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional work environment.
  10. Manage a robust food safety program, including regular documentation and compliance checks.
  11. Schedule staff rosters and manage supply ordering efficiently.
  12. Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide ongoing guidance and training.
  13. Monitor and enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations.
  14. Cultivate strong working relationships within the team and across departments.
  15. Optimize workflow to manage time effectively during preparation and service.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Proven experience working as a Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  2. Excellent leadership and kitchen management skills.
  3. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. In-depth knowledge of culinary trends and kitchen process optimization.
  6. Competence in using MS Office, POS systems, and restaurant management software.
  7. Relevant health and safety certifications.
  8. A diploma from a recognized culinary school or a degree in food service management (preferred).
