Service Desk Officer


Provide an advanced help desk function to support a broad range of stakeholders.

Role Status: Full-time term vacancy for 6 months from commencement date.

Remuneration: ASO3 ($67,589 - $72,033 per annum) + 11.5% Superannuation

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) is seeking a Service Desk Officer to join the ICT and Information Management Directorate.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing an advanced help desk function for all DCP applications, midrange systems and all approved application software.
  2. Providing an advanced help desk function for all approved computer and peripheral hardware.
  3. Developing and maintaining a client orientated service delivery focus.
  4. Contributing to user training by conducting informal training sessions to maintain the effective operation of all DCP applications.
  5. Assisting with the implementation of new DCP applications including systems testing, preparation of user documentation and training schedules.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  1. Have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a broad range of stakeholders.
  2. Be able to exercise judgement and initiative to ensure accurate management of records.
  3. Have the ability to work under pressure, determine priorities, plan and organise work whilst maintaining accuracy.
  4. Be able to interact with computer systems and computer mainframes efficiently and adapt to changes in technology or systems.
  5. Have demonstrated knowledge in standard desktop environment applications.
