G & S Transport is a dynamic, family owned and operated company with over 30 years of experience in remote area transport solutions for the delivery of quarry materials and general freight.
We are currently seeing EXPERIENCED Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics for positions based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory and Port Hedland, Western Australia with specific knowledge of Kenworth trucks, Caterpillar and Komatsu heavy earthmoving equipment as well as crushing and screening equipment.

You will be responsible for:
Scheduled Maintenance, Workshop, Diagnostics and Component Change outs working on of a fleet of Kenworth prime movers, Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment, crushing and screening equipment as well as a fleet of trailing equipment (side tippers, flat tops, low loaders etc.)
Monitoring plant and equipment for faults and repair as required.
Managing vehicles, plant and equipment under warranty.
Dismantling and reassembling heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Conducting routine tests on vehicles, trailers, plant and equipment to ensure best performance
Ordering parts and equipment.
Following all Work Health and Safety regulations, company and mine site rules at all times.
Completing maintenance records using computerised software.
Actively participating in toolbox safety meetings.
Working respectfully in a small team environment.t
You will be required to have the following:
1. Nationally recognised Trade Certificate
2. Demonstrated experience on the servicing and repair of trucks, trailers, crushers/screens and heavy earthmoving equipment including; Kenworths, Caterpillar loaders, excavators and dozers
3. Proficiency with technical tools and equipment
4. High attention to detail regarding personal and team safety
5. Ability to maintain detailed service records
6. Current drivers licence (HC Desirable)
7. A National Police clearance obtained in the last six months and drivers licence history check (essential)
You will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol screening and complete and pass all site inductions as part of the recruitment process.
