Wicklow Hills Nominees are a family-owned farming business located in Gillingarra in Western Australia specialising in broadacre cropping. We are now seeking an experienced Agricultural Technician to join our team. As an Agricultural Technician your everyday responsibilities will include:

• Perform tests and experiments on soil to identify any nutrient deficiencies, including gather data for research;

• Assist in developing new methods for planting, fertilising and harvesting of crops to achieve optimum growth and production;

• Monitor and examine crops for quality and health, including identifying pests, diseases, or other concerns;

• Using farm machinery for spreading fertilisers and chemicals at the right time and correct application to ensure maximum crop yield;

• Assist in harvesting processes with an emphasis on efficiency and sustainability;

• Contribute to trials and experiments aimed at improving production outcomes;

• Install and service advanced agriculture technology and equipment such as precision agriculture solutions, virtual fencing, precision seeding, fertilising, crop spraying; and

• Provide advice and technical support and service on farm management software.

In addition, the right candidate will be required to:

• Hold a Certificate III or higher, or have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience;

• Have clear and effective communication with team members to ensure smooth daily operations;

• Have problem-solving skills to address challenges in a calm and constructive manner;

• Have the ability to work unsupervised and show initiative;

• Follow safe work practices at all times; and

• Respect others and the ability to build positive working relationships within a close-knit team.

This is a full-time position offering a generous salary between $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation to the right candidate (depending on experience).
