Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Engineering Technologist to join our engineering and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge to support product development, process improvement, CNC operations, and civil construction-related design tasks. This role bridges the gap between theoretical engineering and practical implementation in an applied, workshop-integrated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and schematics for use in production and construction.
- Operate and oversee CNC machinery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accordance with design requirements.
- Apply engineering principles to resolve production issues and improve design processes.
- Use software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, PrimeCut, and Bystronic for nesting and part development.
- Collaborate with engineers and workshop teams to translate conceptual plans into practical execution.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document testing and production results to refine technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance standards.
- Assist in materials planning, estimating, and workflow optimisation.
- Contribute to technical documentation and reporting.
Desirable:
- Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Australian standards in civil or structural engineering contexts.
- Prior experience with project coordination or workflow scheduling.
