Machine Learning Engineer (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Identify the core functionality required from PIMCO’s software programs, including the level of security and permeance needs. Analyze users’ needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, project managers, and other within PIMCO technology to obtain information on project limitation and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Design, test, develop, and enhance software solutions to meet those needs. Recommend software updates as appropriate for existing programs and systems. Collaborate within the Technology division to create optimum software. Design applications and software solutions, and ensure through software maintenance and testing that the solutions function normally and work seamlessly in conjunction with each other. Document the code and integral aspects of the applications and systems to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades. Develop and maintain machine-learning and data science models and infrastructure to support the firm. Write code that fulfills the business requirements, and develop and maintain python and big data related research work. Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Informatics, or a related field. Education, Experience, or Training must include each of the following: Python; Scala; JavaScript; Analyzing gigabyte and terabyte sizes datasets; Implementing Statistical based machine-learning algorithms; and Implementing natural language processing algorithms.
